Top 5 Best Smells

 1) Barbeque- Is there anything better than smelling a steak or BBQ chicken grill? Or a juicy burger? Corn cooked in the husk so it carmelizes? Or potatoes? Shish kebabs? Ya, your mouth is watering now.

2) Fresh cut grass- This one is so weird, because uncut grass (AKA “grass”) does not appear to have a smell. But there is something special about a recently mowed lawn, as long as I’m not the mower.

3) Campfires- Regular fires=stinky. Campfires=aromatic. I think these first three have something in common: they all remind me of summer. In Seattle, sunny weather is a BIG deal, so your olfactory receptors go into overdrive, sending happy messages to your brain. This is also why I want to strangle people who “love the smell of rain.”

4) Ladies- This one is obvious, but also weird because it not usually the woman your smelling, but whatever products she uses. And cosmetics companies do such an excellent job that they all smell good, so it’s really a no-lose for whichever one the girl is wearing.

5) Pizza- This is just damn delicious.

  1. Dad would be disappointed you didn't mention "ribs" on your BBQ list. I think of that as being your favorite food, which is ironic because I couldn't handle being downwind of any BBQ pit while PG with you.
